Gone to the Great Gig In The Sky....

A sad day this is, as Rick Wright from Pink Floyd has died. He was, imho, an underrated musician, and was part of one of the bands that shaped my life as a teenager. Before Roger Waters co-opted the band for his own selfish reasons, Wright was a major contributer and songwriter. This was a short, sharp, shock, and he will be missed by all of us that loved this band.

Although I never was a fan, it's always sad to see a part of our collective past disappear forever.

Peter-Yeah, the musicians (if you can call them that) of today just don't stack up to these guys.

Andy-Yup.

Claudia-Imagine how I feel?

I grew up hearing Pink Floyd thanks to my brothers and loved their songs. My mother too, as she was young when my brothers were teens. Can you imagine, our parents were once young.

I wonder if we'll ever have brilliant music again? Music with depth, meaning, poetry, etc etc.

Such a shame, Pink Floyd are something very special. I'd like to believe that when an old musician dies, a new one takes his place... let's hope so.

Anna-Thanks for stopping on by. Yes, they are indeed something special. It is always sad when a musician of his caliber leaves this world.
