Autumn, western, NY.

Rivers of gold and red, and still the occasional green, a crisp chill and frost in the morning. Breaking out the heavier jackets, and maybe a sweater at night.

Putting away the patio furniture, the screen in the front door replaced by the window, and the woodchucks, thankfully, seem to have retreated to their burrows until spring.

(Not-so) Weeping cherry trees still hang on to their green finery, but that will change soon enough, the burning bushes must have talked themselves silly, as their leaves are no more,

And the sunsets, for some reason, just seems to be a bit more spectacular...

Fall has arrived, but they're talking about some snow on Tuesday night.

Oh joy....

Beautiful post. I love fall. It's my favorite season of the year. I just wish it would stay this way a little longer in TN instead of lasting a week or two! LOL

It's my favorite time of the year! Hopefully this week I'll post some of my Fall photos, too. Love it!

Snow? That is simply not natural.

I just recall that you're on the Canadian border, with a significant chance of getting real snow!

Antwerp, Belgium only gets snow approx once a year these days. And last January, it was no real snow at all, but frozen toxic particles from the huge nearby petrochemical cluster in the harbor.

But for the time being, we're having color-matched trees ;-)

The gold of those leaves in the first photo - it's quite stunning!

The autumn colour we have here is pretty feeble compared to yours, but I did take some pics the other day of green, red and gold all together. So pretty!

gemma - Will get to it tomorrow. Promise.

Bina - I agree, it is my favorite time of year. I don't think I could move somewhere that doesn't have a real fall, as much as I don't like the cold.

BM-Hey, can't wait to see them.

Zoe-Yeah, in Brussels it would be abnormal. For here, it is expected. I blame Canada... :-)

Peter - Well, physically, we're about an hour and a half from the border you drive over, less from the one you can swim over via Lake Ontario. That said, we do get that wind across the lake that sucks up moisture and dumps it on us as snow. Sometimes we get REALLY lucky, and get it from Lake Erie as well. I'm a little surprised Belgium doesn't get more snow than it does.

Jay - Yeah, that tree is in my front yard. Good thing I took it when I did, as it started to really shed leaves today. Look at the weeping cherry tree one, and just to the right across to the tree in the neighbors yard. If you open the pic full, that one really looks good as well.

Belgium is too small to get proper snow. But I do remember one year...

It was a sad year.

Zoe-Do tell. And I get the feeling you are not a fan of snow...
