Get me my binoculars...

...the AARP buzzards are circling. I turn 49 today. It's off to a Korean restaurant for dinner tonight, and then to contemplate the many ways in which I will be roundly abused in one-year's time when the half century mark hits.

I don't even want to think of what my kid brother has planned for me next year.

I would like to be the first to volunteer the dispensation of birthday spankings.

Happy birthday hun, you're only as old as you feel. Oh, wait, that would make you about 100?? ;)

Being a very reserved, polite Belgian, I will extend my warmest wishes and congratulations to you on this joyous occasion.

I've noticed Claudia already provided the naughty bits, so I will follow you on this meandering road towards those two digits that many of us look upon with ambiguous, yet often pleasant feelings.

Maybe some Belgian beer might be a suitable addition to enrich the experience ;-)

thanks so much for the good wishes, and yes, I will take you up on the beer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a great one, and why spend a whole year worrying about your 50th? I'm sure it'll just be black ballons, a wheel chair or cane, you know, stuff OLD people need! LOL

Would you have me any other way, boys??? ;) And, um, I'd like a Belgian beer too please, Peter, all this whipping is making me quite parched.

Happy Birthday, Mr N!! I have you beat by a few years (ooh, there's that spanking reference again, tee hee), and can tell you that the big 5-oh holds no fears.

Of course, I threatened dire consequences to those who dared even THINK about surprise parties or singing telegrams etc, and celebrated mine with dinner and a few close friends. As it should be. ;)

Well! Here's what I'm reading right now: 'All comments are subject to moderation. While I welcome opposing views, things that I deem abusive will be deleted.'

HAHAHA but anyway, I just want to say, CELEBRATE!!!

Mr. Nighttime said...

Bina - I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too! ;-)

Jay - My feelings exactly, but I think Mrs. N. is still plotting something nefarious anyway.

MZ - Hey thanks for stopping by!

faerie - We had a good night, went for sushi, (the Korean place was closed) I got George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" Cd as well as the new REM "Accelerate" CD from Mrs. N. They were on my list of must have's.

Just popped over from Violetsky - Happy Birthday. Hope you had a grear day,
Am glad you liked Salisbury Cathedral - got a fan for life for that one. The cathedral has featured heavily in my life, my junior school was located in the cathedral close down near the Bishop's palace and my senior school was in Salisbury - we went to sunday services about 3 or 4 times a term at the cathedral and I was confirmed there in 1990. I love the place and now I have moved back down to the area I often go to sit and contemplate things there.
sorry slightly off topic of your birthday. will send you my wheelchair to practice on for next year and the half century milestone.... hehe

Hope the IL's are kind to you.

Happy Belated.

AARP is a good thing... Become a Grey Panther... I first thought- Those bastards! Then I found out; Old people (who fart dust!) need to unite! The youth of this planet think we're going to give up control without a fight?!!.. Nurse, I think I just filled my Adult-sized diaper...
