The Canadians are coming! The Canadians are coming!

Well, one Canadian, at most. Violet Sky, who is an excellent writer and photographer, lives just outside Toronto, and is coming here to Rochester this week for the internationally known Lilac Festival. Violet was one of the first bloggers that I posted comments on regularly, so it will be good to meet her face-to-face. I'll give her the 50 cent tour of town, as she will only be here for the festival before scooting back over the border. This sort of hit-and-run diplomacy will be appreciated, as she will be the first of my blogger friends from the time I started my blog that I will meet in person.

I will keep you posted on events as they happen, and will let you know of any diplomatic crisis that might occur as a result of this blatant breach of U.S. security. I'll also let you know if she tries to convince me that curling is an actual sport. (*wink at VS*)

Have fun meeting Violet, Mr Nighttime!

When I met my first "local" readers/comenters in 2007 it was a joyous occasion. Unfortunately they all moved/drifted off for various reasons.

The Lilac festival looks impressive: 10 days of free entertainment must be a crowd puller.

VS - Eh, could be wabbit, could be.

Peter - It's the first festival of the season, and there are a ton of them here. The next big one is the Jazz Festival, and I definitely want to catch it this year as 2 big acts are coming, Dave Brubeck, and a band made up of Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, and Marcus Miller.

You are so very lucky. I haven't met any of my blog acquired friends and I would love to! One in particular, in MN, sounds like she would be a blast to be around, but since I have never been there and can't imgaine a reason whey I WOULD go there....well, maybe one day I'll meet SOMEONE from blog land!

Have a wonderful time!

Dave Brubeck!! Wow...he is fantastic. He was ill recently I hope he has recovered and makes the Jazz Festival. What a treat that would be.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time!

I met a fellow Caribbean blogger at a festival last year. A Trini, a nice guy.

I bet you and Violet Sky get along real well.

That Lilac Festival sounds amazing.

I'm trying to get little things started here. How do I get people out of that thing called inertia?

Hahaha! I have it on good authority (Constable Benton Fraser) that curling IS an actual sport, Mr N. LOL!

You'll have fun! I wish I could get there, too!
