Normally. For now, silence means I can't work tonight. I have a wicked cold that has morphed into laryngitis. It's early in the seasons for me to get one of these, so I am hoping that this will be the only one. I can still breathe and taste things, and the zinc I have been taking seems to be lessening some of the nastier effects, but the bottom line is no voice = can't talk to customers = can't work.
Then again, that's not too bad, really. I can catch up on some reading, or some sleep for that matter, or both. Colds can wreak havoc on me, with my not-so-up-to-speed immune system, so I am hoping this is a quickie. Better this than the flu though.
I was going to blog about something else altogether, but am just not up for it. Maybe tomorrow.
Update: Voice is back, sinuses are still under assault.

Get well soon, dear. At least you can still "talk" on your blog!
I just came back from my MD - I only needed a (late) flu-shot but I noticed the influx of people with respiratory infections.
I just saw there was snow in your area, take good care of yourself.
Anne-Thanks. The voice is better today, but I am trying to stay silent for as long as I can...which, if you knew me well enough, is a tough thing to accomplish. ;-)
Peter - -Thanks. I got my flu shot just over a month ago, as it is mandatory for transplant recipients. Only got a little bit of the snow, maybe an inch. Buffalo however, got slammed with 2 feet. Sucks to be them. ;-)
It could be worse. You could have what I have had since having gottten my upper plate. An ongoing, not leaving "cold". Not fun.
So sorry you're not feeling well. OH has a cold too, which is making him feel terrible. Sometimes I think these early ones hit you harder!
I hope you feel better soon - meanwhile, enjoy the break!
keep it down to a quiet whisper.
Bless you [for every time you sneeze].
An ex-blogger from India once told me to pour 1 or 2 drops mustard oil [which burns like pepper] into my nostrils to clear sinus and 'cure cold'. I never tried it but I'd love to convince someone to do so...would you be willing? And let us know if you live.
Andy - Have You told your dentist about it?
Jay - Thanks, and sorry about OH. I feel his pain.
VS-That's about all I was able to do anyway.
GG - Uhm...yeah...I'll get on that...I suppose I didn't need my nose hairs anyway...
Echinacea! Get well soon x
